Research Technician Position in Biomedical Optics

The Buckley Lab at the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University is seeking a highly motivated full-time Research Technician to manage preclinical studies that seek to better understand mechanisms of Injury from traumatic brain injury.  This opening is available ASAP

Responsibilities: Job responsibilities will include small animal handling, surgery, imaging, and functional testing; IACUC protocol compliance and record keeping; management of breeding colonies; along with assistance on a variety of other miscellaneous experiments. The candidate is expected to be self-motivated, detail oriented, and capable of working in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a B.S.  The following disciplines are preferred: biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, biology, physics, chemistry, or a related field.  The ideal candidate will have prior laboratory experience working with small animals (mice and/or rats) and will be willing to commit to at least two years in the position. Experience with Matlab, LabView, or other coding language is preferred but not required.
