Congratulations to our post-doc, Dr. Paul (Seung Yup) Lee, for receiving the Best Seminar Award in recognition of his outstanding presentation at the BME Seminars at Emory, Fall 201 7!  Paul’s seminar, “Non-Invasive Quantification of Brain Oxygenation and Blood Volume in Mice and Rats Using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy” was well-received and has even helped bring us a few new collaborators as well. Awesome work, Paul!

Congratulations to several of our lab members for submitting grants! As a celebration of success, and also celebrating several lab members’ birthdays, we enjoyed an evening out at Yard House Atlanta.

We have the pleasure of welcoming two new first year BME graduate studies to the Buckley lab team this semester.  Kyle Cowdrick comes to us after receiving his BS from Notre Dame and a masters fr om Johns Hopkins.  Eashani Sathialingam joins us after recently graduating with her BS from UC Irvine.  We are lucky to get them both, and we look forward to the coming years.
