We are excited to have a new lab member, Tara Urner, who is pursuing her PhD in the BME department at Emory/GT. Tara received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Earlham College in 2016 with major concentrations in Physics and Philosophy and a minor concentration in Computer Science. She is an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and is the founding member and secretary of the Biomedical Photonics Society (BiPS https://bipsgatech.github.io/), an OSA chapter within the BME department at Georgia Tech and Emory. Rowan Brothers receives National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship
Congratulation to our technician, Rowan Brothers, who was awarded a 2020 National Science Foundation graduate research fellowship (https://www.nsfgrfp.org/). In the fall, Rowan will start his doctoral training at the Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering here at Emory University and Georgia Tech. We couldn’t be more proud. Congratulations Rowan!!
Paul Lee receives the KAPAL Best Presentation award
Congratulations to our postdoc, Dr. Paul Lee, who received the Korea American Professional Association in Life Sciences (KAPAL) Best Presentation award at the 11th NIH Korean Scientist Association Annual Bioscience and Engineering Symposium (ABES 2019). Dr. Paul Lee’s presentation was on his work on noninvasive optical assessment of microvascular cerebral blood flow in children with sickle cell disease. More information can be found here.
