Neurotrauma 2017 – Snowbird, Utah

Congratulations to Bharat Sanders who received a competitive travel grant to present his work at the 35th Annual National Neurotrauma Symposium, Neurotrauma 2017, held in Snowbird Utah.  His work, entitled “Biomechanics of a weight-drop model of sports concussion”, explored the rotational and translational forces associated with the repetitive mild TBI model our laboratory uses.

Happy Birthday Erin!

Last Wednesday, the Buckley crew celebrated one of our own at Top Golf Midtown!  We are so happy to have a PI as great as Erin!

A quick shout out to Paul for getting first place, and to Top Golf for having us.

Happy Birthday Erin!

2017 Southeastern Pediatric Research Conference

Our team had an amazing time attending the Southeastern Pediatric Research Conference at the Georgia Aquarium on Friday, June 9th!  The theme of this years conference was Big Data Better Care, featuring keynote presentations by Dr. Kenneth Mendl, Dr. Howard Jacob, and Dr. Colleen M. McBride. The Buckley Lab was represented at the event during the poster session of the conference when our Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Paul Lee presented on his work in lab.  Our very own Corey Zheng also presented on our non-invasive brain monitoring using diffuse optical technologies by demonstrating our DRS (diffuse reflectance spectroscopy) and DCS (diffuse correlation spectroscopy) monitors.
Thank you to the Georgia Aquarium and the Pediatric Research Alliance for having us, we can’t wait until next year!
