NIH R21 Awarded to investigate biomarkers in repetitive mild traumatic brain injury

We are excited to announce that Dr. Buckley just received an R21 from the NINDS/NIH entitled “Objective biomarkers of cognitive outcome in repetitive concussion”. This work will to identify acute blood flow, metabolic, and functional biomarkers of cognitive outcome, and to test whether these biomarkers can be used to guide the safe period wherein it is safe to resume the risk of concussion. We hope that the results of this work will provide a useful and objective means of evaluating prognosis, assessing injury severity, and managing return- to-play guidelines. As part of this project, we are actively seeking qualified postdoctoral fellows with expertise in TBI. Interested candidates should contact Dr. Buckley at erin.buckley@emory.edu.
