We have several new students joining us this summer for summer research. We’re excited about the opportunity to work with these excellent young scientists.
Pranaya Chilukuri joins us from Georgia Tech Dept of BME through the PERSE program, which facilitates undergraduate research in Pediatric Bioengineering. Pranaya will be helping with measurements to quantify cerebral blood flow in an adolescent mouse model of concussion.
Daniel Hills is a Biology student at Emory University, who joins us from the SURE program at Emory. Daniel is working to quantify how hypoxia-ischemia affects cerebral oxygen metabolism in neonatal rats.
Additionally, we have 2 outstanding high school students, Peter Lee and Noah Floyd, from Druid Hills High School working in the lab this summer. Together, they are developing a new optical sensor to be used for continuous monitoring of cerebral hemodynamics in patients with sickle cell disease.
